The Lithuanian platform for development NGOs, Vystomojo bendradarbiavimo platforma (VBP), joined the European Network for CIGS in January 2023. VBP represents a great diversity of Lithuanian NGOs active in development. Among the members of their platform are not only CIGS but as well larger Lithuanian NGOs. The majority of NGOs in Lithuania is though quite small. Lithuania is one of these countries that have rather recently joined the aid community.

The geographic focus of Lithuanian development cooperation is on the countries from the Eastern partnership, Kenya, Ghana, Uzbekistan, and Nigeria.  Lithuanian NGOs focus on themes as;  democracy development, education, gender, health care, climate change, civil society, ICT and inclusion of minorities. Many of the Lithuanian CIGS work on global citizenship education and promotion of the SDGs.

The capacity building working group focuses on training activities that are organised by the members to strengthen the capacities of CIGS.

The funding working group exchanges practices on processes and procedures for funding of CIGS and their development activities in the global South.

The research working group unveils valuable insights in the CIGS communities and their relevance for sustainable development and in mobilising the public to engage in international solidarity.

The coordination group undertakes action in European matters of relevance for CIGS or for the members of the network. This is the management and the organisations of the network as a whole.
