CIGS a way of expressing global citizenship

On the conference Shaping Tomorrow through Global Education on 28-29 November 2024 in Budapest, the secretary of the network expressed the urge to give global citizenship education to adults. He stressed the need as well to to enable them to participate actively in activities that express global solidarity. For an audience of about hunderd European global citizenship education professionals this brought some discussion to the room. In the current political climate with increasing populism and policies that undermine global solidarity more and more people understand that if we do not reach the voting public perspectives are bleak.

The capacity building working group focuses on training activities that are organised by the members to strengthen the capacities of CIGS.

The funding working group exchanges practices on processes and procedures for funding of CIGS and their development activities in the global South.

The research working group unveils valuable insights in the CIGS communities and their relevance for sustainable development and in mobilising the public to engage in international solidarity.

The coordination group undertakes action in European matters of relevance for CIGS or for the members of the network. This is the management and the organisations of the network as a whole.
