Annual report 2025

In 2025, the European Network for Citizen Initiatives in Global Solidarity (ENfCIGS) grew stronger as a community of organisations supporting citizen‑led international solidarity. Even though many countries faced shrinking civic space and major funding cuts—especially for Global Citizenship Education—our members kept showing creativity, commitment, and resilience.

This year’s report gives a clear overview of what we achieved together: expanding the network, running active working groups, advancing new research, and preparing for our next European CIGS Conference. It also reflects the energy of hundreds of citizen initiatives who continue to build bridges between communities across Europe and the world.

Take a look at the 2025 Annual Report to see what we accomplished and where we’re heading next.

The capacity building working group focuses on training activities that are organised by the members to strengthen the capacities of CIGS.

The funding working group exchanges practices on processes and procedures for funding of CIGS and their development activities in the global South.

The research working group unveils valuable insights in the CIGS communities and their relevance for sustainable development and in mobilising the public to engage in international solidarity.

The coordination group undertakes action in European matters of relevance for CIGS or for the members of the network. This is the management and the organisations of the network as a whole.
