About the network

Stronger Citizen Solidary, Together.

What we do

We serve to enable knowledge exchange between our members in capacity building, funding, peer-learning and advocacy for citizen initiatives in global solidarity (CIGS). We study the activities of CIGS in different European countries and in the world and evaluate our own support practices. This contributes to an increase of public support for global solidarity in communities all over Europe and more public engagement in global solidarity.

Vision and mission

We aim to increase the relevance of CIGS for community development elsewhere, for public support to international solidarity and active engagement in global solidarity. We want to create and support a Europe where citizens play an active and positive role in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and human rights worldwide. We embrace the European values as a base for international action and always seek to improve support practices for CIGS in Europe.

The funding working group exchanges practices on processes and procedures for funding of CIGS and their development activities in the global South.

The capacity building working group focuses on training activities that are organised by the members to strengthen the capacities of CIGS.

The research working group unveils valuable insights in the CIGS communities and their relevance for sustainable development and in mobilising the public to engage in international solidarity.

The coordination group undertakes action in European matters of relevance for CIGS or for the members of the network. This is the management and the organisations of the network as a whole.
